Sharon Ademefun, elder sister of Nigerian music superstar Davido, has revealed how she tries to keep her brother’s lavish spending in check in her role as his financial officer.
Sharon disclosed this while speaking on The Morayo Show, where she explained that she and Davido hold regular financial meetings to review how his money is being spent.
According to her, she often has to caution the singer against buying more luxury items, particularly cars and jewellery.
“David, please, no more cars,” she said, recalling some of the conversations she has had with her younger brother.
She added that she also tells him, “No more jewellery,” but admitted that her warnings do not always stop him from indulging in his luxury lifestyle.
Sharon said there have been occasions when she would caution Davido against acquiring more cars, only to see reports within 24 hours that he had bought another vehicle.
She explained that her position as his sister gives her the freedom to tell him things that other members of his team might be reluctant to say.
“If other people can’t tell him, me I’ll tell him,” she said.
Sharon also revealed that she has signed a non-disclosure agreement concerning Davido’s finances and therefore cannot disclose details about the singer’s wealth.
She, however, stressed the importance of financial accountability, saying Davido needs to understand how his money is being managed despite his high-profile lifestyle.
